My Envy Box: August 2015 - India Mon Amour : Review

Subscription boxes have taken our world by storm. We now have so many  boxes that choosing one is quite a task.My today’s review is about My Envy Box. : August Box-India Mon Amour 

Theme of My Envy box for month of August is  India Mon Amour which is French, for Love My India  for Independence day , Though why French is beyond me ..They could have kept it Indian and themed it in Hindi..

Any ways.. For all those who don’t know about MY Envy Box Subscription here is a little information:

I have taken this box on –off for few times. In beginning I was not very impressed by the product quantity (but quality cannot be argued with) but last few boxes have impressed me to great extent. July My envy box was complete value of money and this month’s box is beyond doubt one of best box ever curated by My Envy box team

This month’s box is themed after Ayurveda , which is one of best contributions from India to world after Zero . Envy Box team has definitely managed to captured the spirit of our rich heritage with this box. It is indeed so indigenous.

Packaging:

This month’s box is oxblood red in color with logo in gold on the top depicting the images that represent India the best. Sheer thought that must have gone into deciding the packaging of this box is mesmerizing. Needless to say I totally loved this month’s packaging as well. It is very beautifully done keeping the theme in mind.

Moment I opened the box I could take a whiff some beautiful smell. All the products in this box are “Made In India “and are 100% herbal. Box contains 4 products ranging from skincare, fragrance and eye makeup, 3 are Full size products and 1 is Deluxe Sample size product.

Along with the usual card with product description this time they have additionally sent a card with herbal tips for skin care, which is pretty helpful and informative.

My Take on products

Soultree Ayurvedic Kajal : True Blue Full size (Rs.350/- for 3g)

It is made using ayruvedic process which is almost 3000 years old, and is made using tradition techniques. I already have this one in Black so a colored Kajal is always welcome. I find it Bit hard bit that’s ok. It has nice blue color and can be used as eyeshadow or eyeshadow base, Only down side is that it smudges and creases a lot. But still happy to have a full size product..

Hedonista Oudh Frozen Ittar-  Full size –(Rs.1045/- for 20g)

It is one more full size product and that to from the brand that I like a lot. I have received a mask from same brand in one of my past envy box and I completely love it.  Hence I’m extremely happy to receive it. It is 100% natural and organic solid perfume made from dehnal ,  Coconut and pure attar. It smells simply divine. This is my favorite product from the box. It is very convenient to carry it around while travelling but I wished it dint have tub packaging as I hate dipping my hands in it to remove product. It lasts for 7-8 hours. I used it the day I got it, I applied it while going to bed and could still smell the mild fragrance in morning.     

Suganda Neem Green Tea Mask- Full size (Rs.900/- for 60g)

This mask consist of powdered blend of neem , rice and green tea. It is specially formulated for acne prone skin. You just simply have to mix it with rose water or normal water make a paste and apply it. I have never tried products from this brand before so not very sure but the powder is very silky soft and has very herbal smell. I have high hopes from this one as I have acne prone skin

 Forest Essentials Iced Pomegranate & Kerala Lime Body Mist- Sample 50ml (Full size for Rs.1475/- for 100ml)

For fourth product there was choice between Forest Essentials Body Mist and SkinYoga scrub, I was desperately hoping for body mist as I wanted to try it for long time. Don’t get me wrong I love products from Skinyoga, but I wanted this one more.

The body mist smells slightly of pomegranate at first and later notes are more citrus. I love the smell. It gets absorbed it body very quickly and leaves behind enticing smell.

Bella Pierre Cosmetics Ruby Lipstick (Full Size 3.5 gms Rs 1500)

It has beautiful coral-red color which is must in every vanity box. After doing some research on the brand I found out that that the lipsticks do not contain any lead, Lanolin, parabens or other harmful ingredients. These lipsticks are formulated with natural waxes, mineral pigments, iron oxides and antioxidants such as Vitamin C and E.

It has a balmy texture, it glides easily on lips and is very easy to apply, but it transfers a lot. It gives sheer coverage but can be built-up to complete opaqueness in 2-3 swipes.

Sugar Eye Told You So ! Waterproof Eyeliner – 01 Black Swan (Full size 1.7 ml 699 ml)

This is waterproof intense dark liquid liner with very fine tip wand for ease of application.  It says that it can be easily removed using warm water as it peels off easily. Claims that it stay for entire day and does not fade . But if are in habit to rub your eyes frequently then this is not for you as it will disappear completely after rubbing.

Vana Vidhi Luxury Shimmer Sunscreen

This is delux sample of 60 ml with very fine shimmer perfect to give an appearance of glowing skin. It is absolutely 100 % vegan and contains no parabens. It is amazing for wedding ceremonies and other parties and functions.  It claims to be sunscreen but personally I don’t find it very useful as sunscreen as no spf is mentioned. none the less it is beautiful product and can be used as subtle body shimmer.

 Ayorma Spa Daily Scrub & Face Wash

They are enriched with herbal extracts and essential oils. Scrub claims to moisturize and nourish the skin, whereas face wash is a fairness and anti-tan face wash, which claims to provide post-spa like invigorating bliss. Tiny 8 ml samples of both are included in this month’s Fab Bag. They have very pleasant fragrance and can be used number of times.
